Likes:
The welcome is always friendly, the beer good and the food excellent. By chance we had the same room again, clean and tidy with a big bathroom.
Dislikes:
It can be a bit noisy (but not rowdy) during the evening with the bar downstairs and people at the tables out the front, but you know it's going to stop at closing time.

The Horse & Groom is loacted in the picturesque village of Milcombe near Banbury. A quiet attractive old country inn in a lovely village close to Banbury, Stratford, Chipping Norton and the Cotswolds. With golf courses and fishing within walking distance.

At the front of the building is a lovely enclosed patio area surrounded by planters filled with a collection of herb plants. The traditional bar has a stone floor, seating for around 25 customers & a wood-burning stove at either end. There's a small snug with 2 booths - perfect for a cosy meal.

At the rear of the building is a contemporary dining room which can seat up to 50 people.

Historic Banbury is famed for many things, namely its cakes, the nursery rhyme “Ride a Cock Horse” and the Oxford Canal. However, as well as all this, it is a thriving town in North Oxfordshire with lots more to offer its visitors with nearby Broughton Castle providing a stunning backdrop in many films, such as “Shakespeare in Love”.

If you want some retail therapy then the new Banbury Gateway Retail Park opened in November 2015 and Bicester Designer Outlet Village is just 30 minutes drive away.

THE BAR IS OPEN 12 noon - 3pm and 6pm to 11pm Mondays - Saturdays and 12 noon - 5pm on Sundays.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PUB & DINING ROOM IS CLOSED ON SUNDAY EVENINGS.
