"Nice and friendly small hotel/pub"
Had a 2 night break at The Angel. First time we have stayed here but overall it was very pleasant and would consider staying again. Only has 3 rooms, ours was a reasonable size overlooking the beer garden. Once closed very quiet location. Although no dedicated parking, free car park a short stroll away. We ate in the restaurant the 1st night, the food was very good and well cooked as was breakfast. All the staff we came across were both helpful and friendly. Read less
Likes:
Fairly small menu but food very good quality, also have a good choice of wine and good selection of beers. Service was very good. Located very centrally, just a very short stroll from the high street
Dislikes:
Only strange thing was no wardrobe in bedroom, only 3 coat hangers hung on a coat rail. No major problem for us as only there 2 nights and travelled light but could be if you were there longer.

"Relaxing stay in comfortable surroundings"
We really enjoyed our stay at The Angel, our enormous room was cosy and it was lovely to have bottles of water and tea/ coffee in the room. The location is great, it was nice to sit on the window seat and watch the town wake up in the morning! Breakfast was delicious (and filled us up for the rest if the day!) and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Only regret was that it was such a short stay, and look forward to visiting again in future. Read less

The Angel at Burford provides a great location for exploring The Cotswolds and indeed the beautiful walks and quirky town shops in Burford alone will keep you well entertained. In addition to character filled, comfortable, ensuite rooms, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and a fantastic breakfast every morning! We provide long weekend and mid week break packages, and also welcome families and children to enjoy the charm of this beautiful inn and its picture postcard surroundings.

Burford is one of England's prettiest small medieval towns. With its long history of hospitality, beautiful Cotswold architecture, exclusive shops and galleries and one of the top twenty churches in the country. Burford makes a perfect place to visit and stay. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’, the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town.

Situated only 100 yards from Burfords bustling high street, the Angel is a haven of tranquillity and comfort. Built in 1652, this cosy restaurant with rooms is packed with original features. Old oak beams adorn the ceilings and in the winter months, flickering log fires reflect on the gleaming copper and brass. During the summer you can relax in the peaceful courtyard or in the walled garden.
