We were only there for one night as we were given a gift fot the Chiltern Valley Winery. but we would definately recommend this place to anyone staying in your area. We couldnt fault anything about our stay apart from the fact we probably gained a few pound from the lovely food. Read less

"Overnight stay for wedding"
Arrived at 12 noon (wedding was 1.30pm) but told booking in time was 1pm; our confirmation invoice said we could check-in at 12. However the staff did their best for us by ensuring our bathroom had been cleaned so that we could get ready for the wedding and they made the bed up for us after we'd left for the wedding. Room was lovely and had the little touches that make you feel welcome, toiletries, bottled water, etc. Returned to hotel at 10.30pm and had quiet drink in bar, very pleasant. Read less

We loved the little extra touches in the room which made it so much nicer than staying in chain hotels. And the breakfast was superb, top quality freshly cooked full English scored 10 out of 10.
Dislikes:
Apart from the problem with our check-in time we could not find fault and would return to the hotel again without hesitation.

With well appointed, ensuite rooms, the Baskerville is the perfect place to stay the night either for business or just for a leisurely break.

The small town of Henley with its many interesting shops and home to the Henley Royal Regatta and the Henley Festival is only 2 miles away. Enjoy a boat trip up the Thames or visit the River and Rowing Museum. Try a night at the Kenton theatre, the fourth oldest in England. Within the village why not stroll along to Shiplake lock and watch the river cruisers pass through. A little further up the hill is the 13th century parish church of St Mary's where Alfred Lord Tennyson was married.

Further afield are the towns of Reading 7 miles, Windsor, with its castle, and nearby Legoland. 15 miles, and the university town of Oxford, 22 miles. All of these can be reached by train from Shiplake station via Twyford on First Great Western trains. Feeling a little more adventurous? Paddington station is less than an hour away with all that London can offer.
