Likes:
The location of the pub and quality of bedrooms. The restaurant had a good choice of menu and no loud music or noisy children. The bedroom was quiet except for church bells!
Dislikes:
Limited space in bedroom for clothes and no towel rails/hooks/shelf in bathroom. No soap/dispenser for hand basin. Always take our own.

Had a high expectation following online reviews. Was disappointed with the overall service and attitude. The menu was not summer dining oriented and very limited choice especially for vegetarians. This being said the food was of a very good standard and was delicious. Good selection of local beers. Read less

The quality of the breakfast and being able to have our dog stay with us. The room and bathroom were both a good size and very clean. The bar staff on arrival were friendly and efficient with check in
Dislikes:
The water system makes constant noise during the night. Church bells chime every hour. The bed was very uncomfortable and sloped badly. Limited menu. Checkout staff unhelpful. Expensive for this.

"Most charming pub and town experience"
This is an excellent pub & inn in a charming little town that is not touristy. The food is quite good (my husband had the best fish and chips of our whole stay in England here and there were toothsome healthy options on the menu that I enjoyed). Excellent cask beer on tap also. On a Thursday night there was a domino tournament in the bar, and an Aunt Sally (a pub game peculiar to Oxfordshire) tournament in the pleasant beer garden out back. A delightful, very local experience for us Americans. Read less

The staff were very helpful and charming. The pub is a classic. The rooms upstairs are simple, clean and comfortable. They haven't had their realness remodeled out of them. I appreciate that!
Dislikes:
The most charming of annoyances: the church bells across the street not only toll each hour but peal a wake-up tune at 4 am and 6 am, presumably for the farmers! Light sleepers - close your windows.

It was very comfortable and with a cosy feel to it. And Brailes (upper and lower) is a village of great historical interest and very beautiful.
