The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was value for money.
Dislikes:
The one negative was the shower. We stayed in room 8 and my head actually touched the ceiling when I was in there. I'm only 5'5!I believe that our friends who were in another room had the same problem

As we have friends and relatives in the Wantage area this was an ideal base for our visit at a reasonable cost.
Dislikes:
We were surprised there was no white toast at breakfast in view of the fact that there is a bakers next door!

The Bear Hotel has 37 en suite bedrooms all with hospitality trays, trouser press and hair dryer. All rooms have colour remote control LCD televisions with Freeview channels.
The new traditional looking restaurant is very relaxing and comfortable. The Restaurant provides excellent service to both residents and non-residents and offers a very high standard of cuisine with sophisticated A la Carte menus and seriously good bar food.
The restaurant is open each day for diners seeking a leisurely meal in comfortable surroundings or business people requiring quiet and discreet surroundings with excellent food and fine wines.
At the end of the day the candlelit atmosphere of the restaurant provides the perfect setting for an intimate dinner party.
