"The worst breakfast I ever had, poor service and scruffy rooms"

We stayed just for one night, thank goodness, having booked and paid for a room via paypal...on arrival they had no record of our booking - but found it when they checked. Our room was changed...an upgrade - except if that was an upgrade lord knows what the room would have been like. The bathroom was awful - a macerator chugging away when you showered. No hot water by 10pm.
Breakfast took 40 mins to get 2 poache4d eggs like bullets serve3d on a 3 inch square piece of soggy toast. Worse to come! Read less

Altamount House Hotel in Blargowrie is beautifully situated in 7 acres of well laid out gardens and mature woodlands yet only 500 yards from the centre of town. The impressive Georgian mansion was built in 1804 and maintains many original features.

The hotel has been awarded 3 stars from the Scottish tourist board for its high standards and has an excellent reputation for quality cuisine. All rooms are individual, comfortable and ensuite. Each room is equipped with a trouser press, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mineral water are standard.
