"Weekend Getaway"
We were in Cottage 1 of the 4 newly refurbished cottages on the Meikleour Estate. The Cottages have their own gardens and driveways to the front door and are dog friendly. The bedroom has a luxury feel with heavy lined curtains picking up the bird theme that is on the tiebacks, bedside lamps etc. The living area has everything you could wish for, they really have thought of everything. Cottage was lovely and cosy with woodburner in the living area. It was very relaxing. Dog friendly cottage.
Dislikes:
The Meikleour is undergoing extensive building works. This isn't just a refurb. The website does not make this clear. I can't wait to see it when it is finished.

"Meikleour Arms should be closed whilst undergoing Major Renovations"
We arrived to spend 2 nights whilst on a Salmon Fishing trip . What a disappointment! We normally stay in a cottage in the area when on a week long trip and eat in the Meikleour 1or 2 nights so we were expecting a pleasant stay . What a Disaster. Web site says the bar is being refurbished. Not True! The main building is , mostly , just a shell . Major renovations are being undertaken with small Jcb and Dumper Truck in and out of the building all day . Read less
