"Very disappointing breakfast"
We had been booked in for the wrong night but luckily a room was avaiable and receptionist very nice and helpful. Room and bed etc fine. Let down by very poor breakfast with slow service. Toast burnt, cooked food underdone, both changed on request. No fruit of any sort, no yogurt or porridge or earl grey tea.
Very few, thin plastic coat hangers in room , no shelf in showeroom, little room to hang towels etc Read less

"Good location, good food, overpriced accommodation"
Some of our furniture was very dusty, the open wardrobe shelves especially. My jacket was covered in dust there were only 5hangers for 2 of us for 3 nights, had to take it to a member of the staff to have it cleaned,I didn't have a clothes brush.I was informed that the room would be cleaned. On our return I went to make a coffee to discover that the kettle lid was thick with dust too, it obviously hadn't been cleaned for weeks. Overall, I don't think the room had been used/cleaned in a while Read less

Cleanliness of our room. Only 5 hangers for 2 adults for 3 nights. I could have asked for more, but I thought by using the shelves I wouldn't bother asking. Didn't think to check the shelves for dust

Melrose is in a perfect location for the visitor and local alike to enjoy the beauty and peace of the Borders.

Melrose has an extensive range of shops and excellent local services. It also has a rich history, with architectural attractions, museums and exhibitions including the oldest continuously inhabited village in Scotland.

The Borders is a land of beautiful landscapes where wild upland hills give way to green and pleasant valleys on a journey to the sea.
