More Information
Easily identified by it's beautiful hanging sign of a bear, we are located just off the High Street under the Northgate Arch. We are several footsteps away from the charming High Street of Bridgnorth meaning we are an ideal base from which to explore Bridgnorth and the surrounding areas. With rates starting at just £40.00 for a single room, The Bear Inn offers four comfortable bedrooms, a pub serving fine ales and food, and a versatile function room, ideal for all kinds of events. There is a large car park right outside our garden gate. On Friday nights, parking is available just across the road as the car park outside our gate becomes a large, lively market on Saturdays - definitely worth a visit! We also have a beautiful large garden with an abundance of colourful hanging baskets and containers with seating for up to 60 people. Bridgnorth is a historic town in Shropshire, on the border between England and Wales, along the Severn Valley and divided by The Severn (Britain's longest river). Bridgnorth is divided in two - a High Town and Low Town, with the high town offering spectacular views of the valley and low town. Even King Charles I commented on the view upon visiting the town in 1642 - he remarked that the view was "the finest in my domain". There are also many old and historic routes through cobbled streets or stone steps to explore in High Town. Attractions in High Town include beautiful walled views over the River Severn, historic castle remains, St Leonard's Church (which can be seen from our lounge and from the letting rooms), the Northgate arch, the Old Town Hall and Richard Baxter's House.
