I gave this location only 4/5 because it is in a very small snd quiet hamlet that would not suite everybody - but for us it was perfect. This is a restaurant that has three double rooms with en site for bed and breakfast.

Due to a mis-directed e mail we were not expected when we arrived for our three-night stay and the establishment was closed for the night. Nevertheless we were made very welcome. The owner is a talented chef and we enjoyed three comfortable nights and sumptuous food Read less

The owners were very friendly, the evening meals a wonderful combination of flavours beautifully presented and the breakfasts were cooked to order rather than kept warm to help oneself.

Response from The Waterdine:
Thank you so much for your kind words, but more so for your understanding about the welcome you did not receive..

Ken and Isabel Welcome you to the Waterdine our small friendly restaurant with rooms set in the peaceful unspoiled upper Teme Valley.

The Waterdine restaurant still maintains the atmosphere of the 16th century drovers inn but with all modern convinces available for the comfort of our guests.

Nestling in the picturesque upper Teme valley in the hamlet of Llanfairwaterdine the Waterdine Restaurant, a Welsh long house, was originally built as a drover’s inn between 1540 and 1600 and has the river Teme running at the bottom of the garden.

Llanfair Waterdine is a small quiet hamlet in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty off the beaten track, “a small piece of paradise” as many people have remarked.

Ken a classically trained chef prepares the menu from fresh local, usually free range or organic ingredients, Isabel looks after the guests needs at meal times and spends the rest of her time in the garden where she not only looks after the flower gardens but produces most of the fresh vegetables and fruit in season used in the kitchen in her vegetable garden.

Our menus are firmly based on home grown (from Isabel’s garden) local free range, wild or organic produce including Welsh Black Beef and Welsh Mountain Lamb, evolve with the seasons as the produce becomes available, delicious shellfish and seafood is delivered fresh off Cornish day boats.

The restaurant is open to non-residents as well as house-guests offering dinners throughout the year. please note bookings only.

Each of our bedrooms is individually designed, decorated and furnished, to create a warm and welcoming, cottage style atmosphere. All have views over the unspoiled upper Teme valley.

The Waterdine is set in mature gardens, which during the summer make a wonderful place to sit with your pre-dinner drinks whilst you choose you dinner from our menu.
