My wife had mentioned that she'd like to visit the Victorian museum, so I booked a room at The Half Moon. It ticked all the boxes for us. Ideal location, large car park, super-king sized bed, next to the river and very reasonably priced. At the end of our stay she said that I'd struggle to top that for next years birthday. Read less

"Perfect location for a weekend break"
On arrival I was greeted with friendly helpful staff and even though we had arrived 2 hours early they had our room ready and happy for us to check in. The room was really light and airy with a very large comfortable bed, I loved the modern spacious bathroom. The bar area has a nice range of real ale which my husband was very happy with and the view overlooks (I think the river severn) delightful all round Read less

The Half Moon is located in the riverside village of Jackfield in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge, the birth place of the Industrial Revolution. The Iron Bridge itself is the ideal place to start exploring the beautiful Shropshire landscape and its fascinating history. Ideally located in the Ironbridge Gorge, the birth place of the Industrial Revolution. Within walking distance for many of the museums

The old towns of Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth are nearby as is Shrewsbury the birth place of Charles Darwin. We are ten minutes drive from Telford centre. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums take you back in time for a taste of the area in its heyday. With many other attractions and fabulous countryside to explore there is something for everyone. For latest Museum events and information visit www.ironbridge.org.uk

The three other Ironbridge Gorge Museum sites open over the festive break are the Museum of Iron, Museum of the Gorge and the original Iron Bridge itself; cast in 1779 its great arch spans the stunning River Severn – as you walk across the bridge try and imagine what the area was like around 300 years ago at the beginning of industrial development.

PLEASE NOTE - We are licensed until 1AM on weekends and have live entertainment on Saturday Evenings.
