"Little gem away from the crowds"
Stayed here whilst on business in Telford. The 15min car commute was worth it rather than stay in the boring hotels in and near the centre of Telford. The Half Moon is very convenient for all the Ironbridge museums and sights. You can walk to most of them. Food and beer excellent. Access now much improved as a result of new lane to the village. The Half Moon is located in the riverside village of Jackfield in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge, the birth place of the Industrial Revolution. The Iron Bridge itself is the ideal place to start exploring the beautiful Shropshire landscape and its fascinating history. Ideally located in the Ironbridge Gorge, the birth place of the Industrial Revolution. Within walking distance for many of the museums

The old towns of Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth are nearby as is Shrewsbury the birth place of Charles Darwin. We are ten minutes drive from Telford centre. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums take you back in time for a taste of the area in its heyday. With many other attractions and fabulous countryside to explore there is something for everyone. For latest Museum events and information visit www.ironbridge.org.uk

The three other Ironbridge Gorge Museum sites open over the festive break are the Museum of Iron, Museum of the Gorge and the original Iron Bridge itself; cast in 1779 its great arch spans the stunning River Severn – as you walk across the bridge try and imagine what the area was like around 300 years ago at the beginning of industrial development.

PLEASE NOTE - We are licensed until 1AM on weekends and have live entertainment on Saturday Evenings.
