Fantastic experience each time! Attention to detail in every aspect, from room to food. I seek out the Pilgrims at Lovington because they serve up quality in large measures. The Pilgrims is easy to locate, great off-street parking, spacious rooms with attention to detail that even 5 star hotels don't match. The food is simply beyond compare. No ready meals here. All fresh ingredients and all freshly prepared, and so well prepared. Sally provided me a local cider to try, it complemented the meal. Read less

I enjoyed the restfulness of the hotel. I didn't hear the neighbours, didn't fight for a parking space and had Wi-Fi access. The food I could write about forever. Attention to detail does it for me!

"We will be staying again"
We stayed for 3 nights, and had dinner every day. There are no nearby shops/pubs but this suited us perfectly as we just wanted a good room and good food after spending the days exploring this part of Somerset. There is ample off road parking that seems quite secure due to its location. Sally was very helpful and the Pilgrims is a very well run establishment. I particularly liked the way Jools the Chef came into the dining room after every meal. Read less
Likes:
The food was excellent, with a sufficiently varied menu to tempt most palates. I do not eat any meat, and I was able to vary the fish dish every day. All food is fresh, local and cooked to order.
Dislikes:
Nothing at all, highly recommended and will be staying again.

Welcome to The Pilgrims Restaurant booking page, in which we will try to give you a glimpse of what awaits, should you care to visit. So, are you sitting comfortably? Let me tell you a very short story.
Under the wide open Somerset skies, surrounded by fields and hedges and trees, lies The Pilgrims Restaurant, an old stone Pub now in the guise of award-winning Restaurant*, complete with Rooms. With a passion for local produce which inspires a menu of unique dishes – and an attention to detail which, should you choose, will guarantee a memorable stay. And, since The Pilgrims has been a pub for most of its many years, we have kept the bar and the lounge with its log fire to relax around, either pre or post dinner or after a bracing walk if you’re staying.
Although there is space to spare we run a small operation, because we do it ourselves. Sally runs the place with the relaxed efficiency that ensures a warm welcome and superb service. Jools’ cooking is based simply on treating stunning local ingredients with the imagination they inspire and the respect they deserve. A menu inspired by the produce grown and reared on our doorstep, and the artisans making cheeses, ciders and smoking eels in the nooks and crannies we’ve gradually discovered. And Stylish? Well, we may be in the country but we can still be civilised about it. (Farrow and Ball are only in Dorset after all,) A small but very able team assist, bless ‘em.
We rarely take more than 20 covers in the restaurant – and having only the five rooms, a maximum of ten guests can stay. Breakfast is as good as it gets and your oh so relaxed dinner just gets better - and then you are then only a few steps from your luxurious bedroom. Staying guests are welcome to use the ‘bar’ - a log fire in winter and the cool of thick stone walls and flagstone floors in the heat of summer - or the garden during the day. We don’t fuss or hover, the place is yours, but just ring the bell and refreshments are at hand.
Environmental Statement
We are fiercly local, so for our ingredients we tend to think in terms of food metres rather than food miles, real ales and ice creams are made in the village, and whilst the wine list is global it is unashamedly europe biased. We re-cycle most of our refuse and use environmentally friendly cleaning products whenever possible.
