"Not very good"
We were not happy with the bathroom that was for the use of our room. We were made aware at the time of booking that the bathroom was not en suite but on the landing just outside the room and for the sole use of that room. We were also made aware that the room was small so we were expecting that. What we were not expecting was that the bathroom was extremely unpleasant and amongst other things had a black crack right across the washbasin. Really not acceptable. Read less

Breakfast was good.

Feel very strongly we should have been told at time of booking that the bathroom was so far below standard. The owner told us that it was next on the list for an upgrade. Not good enough.

The George at Nunney is a 17th century coaching inn with newly renovated bar, restaurant and hotel facilities facing the 14th century Nunney Castle.

The village of Nunney has been described as one of the prettiest in England, with a stream and brook rolling through the village, sandstone houses and the picturesque Nunney Church. The hotel overlooks the brook and waterfall and the moated Castle.

Our hotel has a long history of welcoming guests to its roaring fires, fine dining and good local ales.

Our beautiful and relaxing bar offers a selection of traditional ales as well as an extensive wine list, imported beers and non-alcoholic beverages. The lounge area, with its comfy sofas, serves freshly brewed coffee, teas and other hot beverages as well as cream teas throughout the day and is an ideal location to meet up with friends, colleagues or clients.

The newly renovated restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and provides locally sourced seasonal favourites executed by Head Chef Mark Jones and his team. There are lunch and dinner menu specials and a selection of delicious puddings and Somerset cheeses. Sunday lunch - including fabulous rare Aberdeen Angus beef - attracts devotees from far and wide, with reservations strongly recommended.
