"Castle Suite -such a disappointment"
The pub was ok - the staff tried to be helpful regarding the problems with the room. Apparently new owners took over at the end of the week. Sadly, our short break was punctuated with having to have discussions about the heating in our suite. As the weather was cool, we needed the heating on.

The whole suite needed a complete overhaul, and we suspect there was a serious problem with the heating. Read less

The food was fine.

This has been discussed with the hotel:
The bed had no proper mattress-a block of foam was not appropriate. The central heating did not work in the bedroom or bathroom (very cold). Cracked floor tile

I stayed at the george for one night last week. Arrived late & staff really helpful. Olde world character & you can see a lot of tlc has been spent on the place. Staff very helpful. But some key issues below meaning at the moment, I wouldn't return am afraid. Water in room terrible - shower pouring out really dirty water & the sink water was disgusting - bits of carrot was coming out of the tap & the plug was constantly blocked with dirt. See below more. The George at Nunney is a 17th century coaching inn with newly renovated bar, restaurant and hotel facilities facing the 14th century Nunney Castle.

The village of Nunney has been described as one of the prettiest in England, with a stream and brook rolling through the village, sandstone houses and the picturesque Nunney Church. The hotel overlooks the brook and waterfall and the moated Castle.

Our hotel has a long history of welcoming guests to its roaring fires, fine dining and good local ales.

Our beautiful and relaxing bar offers a selection of traditional ales as well as an extensive wine list, imported beers and non-alcoholic beverages. The lounge area, with its comfy sofas, serves freshly brewed coffee, teas and other hot beverages as well as cream teas throughout the day and is an ideal location to meet up with friends, colleagues or clients.

The newly renovated restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and provides locally sourced seasonal favourites executed by Head Chef Mark Jones and his team. There are lunch and dinner menu specials and a selection of delicious puddings and Somerset cheeses.
