All good plus the option of eating there of an evening and midday if we wanted. We ate for two of our three evenings on site. Good menu variety, excellent meals, good prices.
Dislikes:
Ate too much! (My fault - not the fault of The Rest and Be Thankful).
Response from The Rest and Be Thankful Inn:
Thank you Mr Swann we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope if you are in our area again you will pop in and see us! Have a fabulous Summer!

An overnight stop whilst walking the Coldridge Way. I like the typical country pub environment as long as the accommodation is good so the pub fitted the bill and the room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, if a little tired. Read less

For me, the main criteria required of a country stay whilst on a walking holiday are a comfortable room, good food and beer and a good shower. This had the lot.

This popular Inn and restaurant is in the centre of Wheddon Cross, the highest village on Exmoor, and a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful National Park. The Inn was originally a staging post for travellers on their way between Dunster and Dulverton, and you will still find a warm welcome, good food and extremely comfortable accommodation awaiting you there today, almost 200 years later.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings, or a more active holiday, the Rest and Be Thankful Inn and Exmoor are sure to meet your every need. Wheddon Cross, as its name suggests, sits on a crossroads near the centre of Exmoor. From here you have easy access to all parts of the National Park. The medieval village of Dunster is 6 miles away, with the seaside town of Minehead a further 3 miles. The pretty villages of Selworthy and Bossington in the National Trust owned Holnicote Estate are worth a visit, as are Winsford and Exford.

If you are looking for a walking, cycling, or fly-fishing break, we will do everything we can to provide you with the perfect holiday. There is a secure store at the Inn, where cycles and other equipment can be kept, and we also have a drying room for wet clothes and boots. Horse riding and hunting can be arranged with prior notice.
