Room was lovely. Very comfortable and warm. We ate in the restaurant and the service and food was very good. The tabel we had was a good size for two people so we did not feel cramped

The Royal Oak is set in the beautiful village of Winsford in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. The Royal Oak offers relaxed comfort, inspiring food and wine, local ales, and warm, exceptional service. Come to the Royal Oak for a weekend retreat, a candle lit dinner, a well earned sportsman’s lunch or simply a quiet pint of Exmoor Ale and bag of pork scratchings. A large private drawing room provides a peaceful escape to read, have a glass of something by the fire or to finish off your evening meal with coffee and one of our fine whisky collection. Children are welcome, and we can provide a travel cot and child’s pull out bed in the larger rooms. We are big fans of clean and well behaved dogs Our 8 refurbished rooms at The Royal Oak are all individually decorated and equipped with the little extras to make your stay comfortable including, fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Soft, white bath sheets are in every bathroom.
