The hotel is in the centre of Porlock and had a very small car park which was a tight fit for four cars although there is a public car park just up the road. My friend and I stayed in Courtyard 5, a two bedroom loft apartment with lounge/kitchen area. Although the bedrooms were quite small, the beds were comfortable. The lounge area was pleasant with a small kitchen with fridge, toaster, etc. The staff were welcoming, very pleasant and friendly. The evening meal was Ok and breakfast was lovely. Read less

Staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Comfy beds and well equipped kitchen area.
Dislikes:
The outside area was cluttered with dead plants and washing lines. The entrance area to the reception was also cluttered with used paint pots, etc and was generally an unwelcoming part of the hotel.

The 'clutter' in the back hall is very often 'things' on their way to the shed, but somehow never quite get there.Toni is guilty as charged! Thankyou for your review, I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, when we chattedI thought you were all quite happy. The Lorna Doone is a very old building, built in 1892, we are in the middle of a National Park, and we have to adhere to some very strange rules ,re alterations etc. I feel we give value for money, especially if you consider that 20% of all monies goes in VAT. Due to the fact that people do not want to work anymore, it is down to a few, therefore we cannot do everything at once,
