Margaret and John welcome to High Orchard, a small holding situated on the Brendon Hills, close to Exmoor and the Quantocks, and ideally situated for walking or fishing in nearby Clatworthy reservoir. High Orchard produces or serve local food, have chickens, ducks, sheep,and pigs and process the products for local Farmer Markets.

All of the above and a lovely pub called The Three Horseshoes up the road, lovely food and the owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Margaret at the b&b booked the table for us.

Unfortunately we could stay for only one night. Despite them both being very busy with lambing, John and Margaret went out of their way to be welcoming and friendly. Indeed it felt more like staying with friends. We would strongly recommend taking the option to have an evening meal, Margaret's cooking is excellent. The breakfast was also first class. Read less

Start the day with hearty Farmhouse Breakfast, consists of home-cured bacon, home made pork sausages,free range eggs, perhaps something lighter yogurt, fruit juice,cereals, fresh fruit,and toast with home-made preserves.
Local attractions include National Trust's Dunster Castle and Knighthayes Court at Tiverton,the West Somerset Steam Railway, Oake Golf Course, Taunton Castle. Museum.
The small country town of Wiveliscombe with its unique shops and local pubs is also nearby.
Wimbleball Lake nearby annually have Iron Man, also good water sports and fly fishing.
Clatworthy Reservoir is very good fly fishing. I have fish cleaning facilities and fridge available at High Orchard.
For walkers, Wivey Way walks are outside the front door.
