"Quality town centre hotel."
I had expected this hotel to be a little "rough and ready" - it's advert said town centre and music at the weekends. We weren't there at the weekend and the twin room was very small, but adequate. Dinner was excellent, very busy but the staff were excellent and the food superb. We got chatting to a group of dutch holidaymakers and some Germans as well. Breakast was also excellent and the waitress really friendly. Recommended but don't bring a cat! Read less

Located in Callander Main Street, The Crown hotel provides a perfect base for sightseeing and exploring the beautiful scenery of the surrounding areas. At The Crown Hotel, we pride ourselves on our welcoming atmosphere and excellent service, as well as providing all the facilities listed. It is ideally situated close to a large off-street car park and coach park and a stone's throw from the River Teith, the Meadows Play Park and the Rob Roy Visitor Centre.

Callander in Perthshire is itself an attractive holiday town situated at the junction of two rivers in an area of outstanding natural beauty known as The Trossachs on the edge of the Scottish highlands. Explore the area, see Loch Venachar and Loch Lubnaig. Add 15 minutes and you can include Loch Achray, Loch Katrine and the Lake of Mentieth. Loch Lomond is just an hour away. These Lochs between them offer sailing, water ski-ing, steamer trips, fishing and of course magnificent scenery and walks.

These scenic surroundings combined with the numbers and variety of Lochs and rivers make this a natural playground for even the most demanding visitor. Ben Ledi, Callander's own highland 'Ben', looks down on the town from a distance of about 2 miles - it's a great energetic walk to a wonderful view.
