We loved the room, the facilities were excellent, a mini fridge table, tele and an en suite with shower. Also it is in an excellent location bang in the middle of ocean road. The breakfast was rly gud

At the Elmswood guest house we offer quality accommodation for guests to enjoy whether it be for a rest after a hard days work or a seaside escape.
All of our rooms are equipped with freeview television, WI-FI connection, tea & coffee making facilities fridge, iron and ironing board.
Elmswood Guest House is located in South Shields whilst close to public transport links, is accessible to every top attraction the town has to offer without the need of transport at all. The recently upgraded and extended shopping centre has all the top shops you'd expect to find, and the guest house is only a two minute walk to two parks, one of which has been re-designed as it was in Victorian times and after 3 million pounds worth of renovation work has taken place, the view is breath taking.
We are very close to the South Shields beach and its fairground.
It is in an area favoured by both business men and women, but also with leisure travellers.
Even closer than the parks and the beaches are the great restaurants, which South Shields has in abundance. On Ocean Road itself visitors can find a wide selection restaurants, cafes and takeaways. They cater for every taste, traditional fish and chips, Mediterranean, Chinese, Italian and last but by far not least Indian Curry Houses right on our doorstep. With so much competition prices stay low so it's not a drain on your wallet to indulge in this cuisine.
There are a large number of pubs and nightclubs a few minutes walk away from the guesthouse making it convenient for those that are visiting the area for the nightlife without being in a noisy location.
Other local attractions include the Arbeia Roman Fort, The Customs House and Blue Reef Aquarium.
