"The upstairs needs an update to match the downstairs - a little tired"
The room just needs to be updated, all looking a little tired. Had noisy next door neighbours, I was in room 2 so sleep was interrupted. Noise from them pluging and unplugging and switching lights on and off, as well as voices. So some sort of sound proofing could resolve that? The bathroom is frankly just too small, it is a fine art to manoeuvre, not sure how you could resolve that, but it's not acceptable really. Read less

There is no doubt that it is in a beautiful location and the price is good. I had tried to book into another local hotel which was full, this is an acceptable alternative.
Dislikes:
I have stayed here before and some rooms are good, one great but this room (2) lets you down. It needs a rethink. I understand you are a country pub and that the rooms are secondary.

The Throckmorton reopened in November 2014 under new ownership following a major refurbishment to the pub & dining room. While the rooms are also due refurbishment later in 2015 they are all well appointed, clean and comfortable with good facilities.

The Throckmorton is situated just 300 yards from the historic National Trust property Coughton Court, seat of the Throckmorton family this historic Inn and is midway between Studley and Alcester on the main A435 Birmingham road. It also makes a perfect touring base with Stratford 8 miles, Warwick 11 miles and Worcester 15 miles. Birmingham 18 miles offers limitless shopping and a wide and diverse range of Arts and Culture. The NEC and Birmingham Airport are within easy reach and access to the midlands motorway network is only minutes away. Local busses stop outside the pub and this allows easy connection nationally.

The pub & dining room are open all day every day with fresh, local, homemade food served to the public from 9am to 9pm (breakfast for residents from 7.30am Weekdays and 8.30am Weeknds).
