Bed very comfortable.

Food excellent, great to see local ingredients used.
One of the top two of the best breakfasts I have ever had.

Description of the facilities refreshingly honest.
Dislikes:
Small TV - but that's being picky.

"Value for money"
Business trip requiring an overnight stay local to destination. Aware that the public areas had undergone refurbishment whilst the bedrooms are yet to be refurbished. Public areas are refurbished to a high level and the food is of a good standard. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable but a little tatty, certainly in need of refurbishment which is reflected in the price you pay and acknowledged by the management. Read less
Likes:
Public areas are comfortable well laid-out. The bar has a real log fire and plenty of seating. The food has a good choice and priced to suit all pockets.
Dislikes:
Breakfast was only available from 07:30am, which is a little late for working people who may be used to "chain" hotels who serve breakfast from 06:30am which would be more practicable.

The Throckmorton reopened in November 2014 under new ownership following a major refurbishment to the pub & dining room. While the rooms are also due refurbishment in 2015 they are all well appointed, clean and comfortable with good facilities.

The Throckmorton is situated just 300 yards from the historic National Trust property Coughton Court, seat of the Throckmorton family this historic Inn and is midway between Studley and Alcester on the main A435 Birmingham road. It also makes a perfect touring base with Stratford 8 miles, Warwick 11 miles and Worcester 15 miles. Birmingham 18 miles offers limitless shopping and a wide and diverse range of Arts and Culture. The NEC and Birmingham Airport are within easy reach and access to the midlands motorway network is only minutes away. Local busses stop outside the pub and this allows easy connection nationally.

The pub & dining room are open all day every day with fresh, local, homemade food served to the public from 9am to 9pm (breakfast for residents from 7.30am Weekdays and 8.30am Weeknds).

PLEASE NOTE – Wifi is currently unavailable. An installation of Cloud Wifi is booked and was scheduled for October and is due to be completed very soon but has not yet been completed meaning that there is no Wifi available at present. Our apologies.
