Local Area Information
Linlithgow is famous for its Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Linlithgow Palace is the highlight of this ancient burgh close to Edinburgh. This wonderful 15th century ruin is perfectly positioned beside Linlithgow Loch. Kids will love exploring the ruins, and perhaps interested by the Linlithgow Story, which, as it says, tells the story of the town. Linlithgow Loch is a haunt for wildfowl, especially in winter. Boat trips on the Union Canal are another popular excursion.
