"Perfect for our requirement with added bonuses."
Overnight stay with close family occupying two additional rooms. Close proximity to wedding venue literally just up the road. The landlady very kindly offered to take the five of us to the venue even though it meant her making two trips - totally above and beyond her remit but so very gratefully accepted.

Would love to have a reason to return! Maybe Sunday lunch?!! Read less
Likes:
Loved the mugs in the room. Made for a lovely cup of tea on waking. Very comfy beds and pillows. Slept like a log! Breakfast served in the conservatory with the sun shining was lovely.
Dislikes:
A little more attention to keeping the orange juice topped up! Mum was concerned about taking a shower as she's not so steady on her feet in potentially slippery situations - maybe add a hand rail?

The Dean Inn at West Dean, has been the local village meeting place for the past 200 years.

Set in the valley of the River Lavant in the South DownsNatioanl Park, The Dean is 5 miles north of the Cathederal city of Chichester on the A286, and 5 miles south of the market town of Midhurst.

The building itself has been lovingly restored and extended. This freehouse has a fantastic spacious fine dining restaurant, bright and airy conservatory and a warm and welcoming bar. There is a private car park and an allocated area for bicycles. The beautifully renovated converted barn at the rear of The Dean Inn has six stylish en-suite bedrooms, which are perfect for attending one of the many local events, wedding parties, a special break or a business stay.

All the bedrooms have flat screen TVs, free wireless internet access and coffee and tea making facilities. Every overnight stay includes a delicious breakfast served in the conservatory. In the warmer months you may like to enjoy your breakfast al fresco on our decked seating area.

We are proud to be home to one of the countries best young chefs, Michael DiBella who has worked at Claridges and won National awards for his delicious food and whether you are eating in our dining hall or the more intimate space of the conservatory, which has double doors that open out onto the decked courtyard for al fresco dining in the warmer months, the fine dining experience at The Dean Inn is something special.

We source the finest, freshest local, organic produce and smoke our own meat, fish and cheese to create superb uncomplicated food that changes with the seasons. The menu includes regularly changing specials and bar meals are also available for a lighter lunch or a more informal bite to eat.

The atmosphere in The Dean Inn is warm and welcoming. The open log fire warms and welcomes to keep everyone toasty in the winter months, whilst the decking and garden beckons in the summer.
