Breakfast - no clean tables, staff miserable, messy and no clarity on whether it was help yourself or not.
Response from The Lansdowne Hotel:
Dear Rebecca. were really sorry you was dissiponted with your stay at the hotel. Normally the Sunday waitress is a very cheerful young girl. But i am afraid on that occasion although it is acceptable she had been working till 1am Sunday morning.
we think the servery speaks for its self but maybe we have to be more aware that some people dont understand how that works, Again we can only apologies to you, and all our rooms are starting to be refurbished and offer you a discount if you stay again

"disappointing in all respects, no early breakfast provided at special request"
lack of staff meant we were not given adequate welcome - no means of contacting staff out of hours was provided in the room literature. Asked for early breakfast, but told not possible. How difficult would cereal be to provide? Very noisy bar, nowhere to sit comfortably. Single accommodation was adequately clean but very smelly,-as if people had been smoking. Read less

This historic hotel, a grade 2 listed building, was built in the 16th century as an important coaching inn, and was also home to a local brewery for a time. The courtyard still has its medieval brew house. The hotel is located on the A4, just 15 minutes from the M4 in this Wiltshire market town.

With 26 rooms, all en suite, two function rooms, two bars and a restaurant, the Lansdowne is a wonderful place to eat, drink and be merry, with enticing open fires in the winter just calling for visitors to linger in the bar over a meal and a pint of real ale.

Book any double or twin room 2 people on a Friday or Sunday Night. And recieve a free bottle of house wine.
