We received a very warm welcome. Our three-person room was quite spacious and included digital television, free wifi and a comfortable ensuite bathroom. After refreshing ourselves we tucked in; the inn offers a wide range of à la carte and seasonal dishes, including a broad choice for vegetarians. The food's very good as well; it could easily rival that of more expensive restaurants. After a hearty meal we had a good night's sleep, and started the next day with a fine cooked breakfast. Presentation of rooms, customer service.
Dislikes:
Mind the low ceiling on the stairs up - suggest overnight bags not full luggage.
Response from The Peterborough Arms:
Thank you for a very nice review, we try our hardest and we're glad you found us. We'll have a think about the low stairway ceiling - trouble is, it's a listed building and we can't change much but a cushion issued before ascent might help!!! Thanks again.

"Food excellent rooms need upgrading"
We went away for my husband's 60th birthday and were joined by his sister and brother-in-law. The food was very good, service also very good and the staff and owners were very friendly. They gave my busband a card and as requested they made him a cake. The beds were comfortable and clean and the bathroom was ok. The decor is tired. when opening the curtains they slid off the rails. Two blinds in the other bedroom fell down when they were lowered. I went to open a drawer and the front fell off. Read less

The staff and the food
Dislikes:
There was nowhere to walk to as it was a busy road with no pavements and the canal path is privately owned so you could not walk along it.
Response from The Peterborough Arms:
We would refer you to the numerous other reviews (recent) on Eviivo and Trip Advisor for more accurate assessments. There are many local walks and infact the area is renowned for it's walks, it may have paid to ask us and we would have willingly given guidance. The canal path was closed due to preparing for an open day the following day. Perhaps we could recommend a 5 star hotel in the furure rather than our B&B. Thank you for your kind comments re food and service.

Close to the Junction 17 of the M4, the Peterborough is ideal for breaking a long journey east or west.
A village Inn is part of a community; we will always encourage community activities at The Peterborough Arms. The Peterborough Arms - a pub for the community offering the best in real ale, excellent food and fine wine complemented by an unforgettable friendly welcome.
Linda and Trevor, your hosts and chefs, have over 30 years experience in preparing and cooking fine Anglo-Continental cuisine.
