"Good location but bedrooms need modernising"
Bed was clean and breakfast when it arrived was very good. Bedroom needs to be renovated. Sink tiny and plughole full of rust ! Black faux leatherette bed was from the 70s..... lights had missing bulbs and every bulb was different... tea and coffee looked as if it had been there some time (we didn't touch it either)
Hotel smells a bit damp which is never good although we didn't see any other signs of this. Walls are thin as bedrooms have been added within larger rooms of the original house. Read less

The Bell House is one of the most attractive small hotels in the West Country. The original house is over 500 years old and stands in delightful English gardens. The Bell House makes an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds.

The Bell House offers a non-smoking restaurant, as well as large gardens for al fresco dining. Wi-Fi is available in both the bar and restaurant areas.

When England was under the influence of Oliver Cromwell all church services were banned and all church bells confiscated.

The villagers of Sutton Benger hid the bell from the beautiful Saxon Church in the private house directly opposite. Hence, this is how the Bell House gained its name.

The cities of Bath, Swindon and Bristol are all within a 20 minute drive and we are ideally situated for both the Castle Combe Race Track and Badminton Horse Trails.

The surrounding area has a wealth of ancient sites, numerous white horses and the standing stones of Avebury. The famous beautiful villages of Castle Combe (Dr Dolittle) and Lacock (Harry Potter) are both within a ten minute drive.
