The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was superb and service great .The rooms were very comfortable with excellent facilities. The ground coffee and home made cookies were a lovely touch.
Dislikes:
The only minor problem is the lack of parking on a busy high street but we noticed there is a car park off the high street.

"Just wish I could have stayed a second night"
I needed an overnight stay in Cricklade before a family event. The Red Lion was a superb choice. I arrived in the dark, drizzle and cold and the pub was warm, cosy and busy - motorway traffic soon forgotten. After a delicious bar meal and large glass of red wine (or was it two) I had a very comfortable night in a room in a stone annex across a courtyard, with other family members in the adjacent room. With the rooms upstairs empty, we were treated to peace and quiet. Read less

The accommodation is quite unique and the rooms and bathrooms are large. It felt indulgent for one, but I decided I'd earned the treat. The staff are friendly but relaxed and genuine.
Dislikes:
It was too short.

"Fantastic food in the perfect pub"
We came for a weekend in the Cotswolds and specifically wanted to stay at the Red Lion after a personal recommendation. We went to Cirencester, Lechlade and to the White Horse so the Red Lion was well-located (we drove from London). We just wanted to relax and spend time together more than anything else. I have been recommending the Red Lion to everyone since our trip. Read less

The atmosphere of the pub and the friendly service both in the restaurant and at the bar. The food was fantastic, particularly the breakfast. I appreciate the local, organic food with provenance.

Our 5 en-suite bedrooms are newly decorated and spotlessly clean. Crisp white linen, bright white towels, comfy beds, power showers and endless amounts of steaming hot water to help relax and de-stress after a busy day.

Should you be travelling with "mans best friend" then please ask about our 2 dog friendly rooms. All we ask is that they leave the river and mud behind them before checking in.

Roaring log fires, historic bric-a-brac, 10 real ales and ciders, unique guest lagers and beers from around the world, a fabulous pub garden and a warm welcome. These are all parts of what makes the pub so special.

With the steady decline of the classic British pub the Red Lion stands out as one of a few true free houses, you only need to look at our daily changing list of beers to see this.

Food and eating out are very much a part of our society now and the Red Lion offers something for everyone from classic pub food to modern British dishes. Whether you are looking for a casual relaxed meal in the surrounds of a buzzing atmospheric pub or something a little more elegant in the adjoining restaurant we can cater for you..
