"Great classic pub stay"
An overnight stay whilst walking upriver along the Thames Path. This was our second-last night of a 14 day hike and it came at the end of the only really wet day. We were warmly welcomed despite being decidedly soggy. Only guests staying that night. Our room was really big and spacious and very comfortable. Great bath in which to soak weary bones. Loved looking out onto microbrewery below. Read less

Cosy, warm pub with friendly, helpful staff. Great fire. Sat in pub part for dinner. Food was delicious, creative, well-cooked and well-presented. Breakfast was equally as good. Great yoghurt.

"Overnight stay on the way to Bath"
We stayed for one night on our way to a weekend stay in Bath. Arriving at about 3p.m. we were shown to our room by a very friendly member of staff. I then went down to the bar while my wife relaxed in the room. After enjoying a few beers we ate in the bar that night in front of a lovely open fire. A good nights sleep was followed by a pleasant breakfast. Read less

Excellent accommodation - warm and clean. Superb range of beers, many brewed on site at the pubs own brewery. Bar food very good quality. staff very friendly and a great atmosphere in the bar at night
Dislikes:
Being woken very early by the sound of beer kegs being moved around (4-5 a.m.). Breakfast barely satisfactory compared to previous stays (scrambled egg on 'minute' English muffin, thin bread for toast

Our 5 en-suite bedrooms are newly decorated and spotlessly clean. Crisp white linen, bright white towels, comfy beds, power showers and endless amounts of steaming hot water to help relax and de-stress after a busy day.

Should you be travelling with "mans best friend" then please ask about our 2 dog friendly rooms. All we ask is that they leave the river and mud behind them before checking in.

Roaring log fires, historic bric-a-brac, 10 real ales and ciders, unique guest lagers and beers from around the world, a fabulous pub garden and a warm welcome. These are all parts of what makes the pub so special.

With the steady decline of the classic British pub the Red Lion stands out as one of a few true free houses, you only need to look at our daily changing list of beers to see this.

Food and eating out are very much a part of our society now and the Red Lion offers something for everyone from classic pub food to modern British dishes. Whether you are looking for a casual relaxed meal in the surrounds of a buzzing atmospheric pub or something a little more elegant in the adjoining restaurant we can cater for you..
