Likes:
Quirky & atmospheric building; the room was nice, airy & comfortable, the breakfast was very good & the Hotel provided delicious packed lunches.
Dislikes:
There was a great deal of big lorry road noise all night & that disturbed our sleep. If there's a next time we'd ask for a room at the back.

The Vale Hotel is at the southern gateway to the Cotswold water park which offers activities including sailing, water/jet skiing, fishing, horse riding and golf. We are 6 miles from Swindon and Cirencester for some great shopping trips. Or you could take a walk through the rare fritillary fields.

We are in easy access to the M5 and M4 so if you would like to explore some of the bigger cities such as Bath, Bristol, Gloucester or Oxford all are only a 40 minute drive away.

Whether you're here to explore the vast range of treasures that Wiltshire and the Cotswold has to offer, or simply stopping off as part of your busy business week, we'll do everything we can to give you a warm welcome and ensure you have a relaxing stay.

When you're tired after the day's activities you will want a comfortable and convenient room to end the day. The Vale Hotel is just the place to relax and recuperate, combining the elegance of Georgian architecture with the best in modern facilities.

Each room is fitted with bespoke facilities; from beautiful bathing suites to LCD TVs and internet access. Accommodation is available in double and single and with facilities for children or for the disabled.

Cricklade is located just off the A419 mid-way between Swindon and Cirencester. The settlement dates back to Saxon times and it's the first town on the River Thames.

You can walk or cycle down the picturesque Thames Path which passes through the town, near to The Vale, and the Fritillaries meadow (North Meadow) is a site of special scientific importance and a popular walking spot.

The Cotswold Water Park is nearby and here you can walk, cycle, fish, GO-Kart, Water-SKi and Ride Jet Bikes. The canal also runs thourgh this area and is a currently in the process of being re-commisioned.
