We liked the character of the hotel which was in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful which makes a big difference. Had a lovely big room overlooking the village streets.
Dislikes:
Nothing really - a healthier breakfast option would have been welcome (fresh fruit and yoghurt?)

The room was very comfortable and a great size. Breakfast was excellent. Also, Eileen, the lady who serves the breakfast, was a mine of fascinating information about the history and culture of Lacock.

As a National Trust village there are hordes of people coming to view this lovely village and Abbey.
I feel that The Red Lion bar area doesn’t have to try too hard to get custom and their standards are perhaps below what they could be in terms of repair and renovation.
The paintwork is quite shabby and knocked about, however, our bedroom was clean and well decorated and the bathroom was great. Read less

Located in the heart of the beautiful National Trust village of Lacock, The Red Lion with its large open fireplace, flagstone floors and Georgian interior, welcomes visitors to experience an atmosphere steeped in over 200 years of history.

The bar is home to a selection of Cask Real Ales from the Wadworth collection and wines from around the world. If you are in need of refreshment, relaxation and rest, the Red Lion is the place to spend your days. Homecooked food is available daily using locally sourced ingredients and supporting local suppliers.

The Red Lion is within easy walking distance of the historical Lacock Abbey, the saxon church of St Cyriac, the 15th century Tithe Barn and plenty of village stores and craft fairs. The Red Lion is an ideal resting point after a busy day.
