"Comfortable accomodation in pleasant srroundings"
We stayed for only one night as part of a weekend break. Paul and Trish are both very pleasant and value all their guests. Excellent variety of meals which are good value and the breakfasts are great (fantastic poached eggs!) We stayed in the double en-suite with glorious views over Exmoor. Room was comfortable and provided everything you needed for an overnight stay. Some of the decor good do with being updated but this is a 16th century building after all. Would definately visit again. Read less

Dislikes:
Very steep driveway/carpark. Not a problem for me but some people may struggle with this!

"Modern facilities in a historic setting"
A three day break in accommodation in keeping with the remoteness and beauty of the surrounding area. The charisma of the owners blended with the charm of the Inn and the small village. The peace and tranquility of the countryside add to the ambience created by Inn and the owners which suited our tastes admirably. Read less
Likes:
Good facilities, modern yet in keeping with the age of the establishment. The warm genuine welcome from the owners and their staff. The good food well prepared and served. Very good value for money.
Dislikes:
Tendency to be untidy because of its various functions as village pub and shop as well as accommodation but not unattractive because of that. Could be irksome for anyone staying longer.

"Good base to explore both Somerset and North Devon"
I was a little apprenhensive with staying here after reading the reviews. However, after being showed around the cottage by Paul it was very clear that they had listened and took on board the reviews. The cottage was clean, and had tv,dvd and freeview. Wi-fi is also available which helps if you need to be in touch with work etc.
There's a washer and dryer so we didn't take any laundry home.
I did enjoy the cottage. Read less
