I occasionally need to make brief trips into Edinburgh for just one night and the Alexander Guest House provides an extremely affordable place to stay, without feeling as if you are sacrificing anything. The location is far enough from the centre of town so that it is a quiet neighborhood, but not too far to walk if you have the time, or just a cheap taxi away. The best deal in Edinburgh from my experience. Highly recommended and I will definitely be returning. Read less

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and an adequate size. The staff if friendly, personable and very accommodating (on both of my stays I requested a late checkout and that was made possible).

Some little things that annoyed. - no sink plug and when requested one provided that didn't fit. No resupply of toilet paper in bathroom.No shampoo or small soap.not an overly welcoming on arrival

We are situated 1 mile south of Edinburgh’s Old Town and the Royal Mile and 1 ¼ miles from Waverly Railway Station on Princes Street. In addition, The Alexander Guest House is ideally situated for guests requiring proximity to: Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh University, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Royal College of Surgeons.
We are on a main bus route with frequent services to and from the city.
There is a range of bedrooms that are suitable for everyone’s needs, from a single room to a deluxe family en suite room. All of our rooms are furnished and decorated to the highest standard ensuring a comfortable stay.
The dining room is tastefully decorated in a traditional room, with splendid cornicing and elegant furnishings. You can enjoy a full Scottish or continental breakfast, vegetarians and special requests are well catered for.
We recycle where possible.
