Likes:
Real, great ale in the bar downstairs and real gas lamps with a great ambience. Friendly staff and a great breakfast. Only a ten minute walk to town.
Dislikes:
Noise levels/ ventilation options were a little loud/limited.

Not what I expected from the reviews. Rather gloomy interior with confusing layout. It felt like mounting very steep narrow steps before sleeping above a pub. You enter a door marked 'Private' for the stairwell, so unless you made note of that, it was hard finding the way back to your room. The carpark is in a very quiet dark backstreet next to another one full of building/timber debris. Impossible to know which belonged to hotel, but my new car was thankfully safe & untouched overnight. Read less

The staff were very friendly, warm, & helpful. I suspect I was given a far better room than the single actually booked. The 'Penny Office' contained a queen & single bed, & the free Wifi was great.
Dislikes:
I was cold & couldn't sleep for ages even with radiator on full blast, plus people stood smoking and chatting beneath my window till late. Loose teabags in the caddy seemed an unhygienic idea.

Thank you for your review and your kind words.With regard to your comments regarding the" gloomy layout".You were probably not aware that during the night time hours we are lit by gas lights and while emitting a lovely warm glow, they are not as stark and bright as electric bulbs.Our car park is separated from the restaurants near by by a large fence and adjoining beech hedgeing and the building materials were in one of the restaurant car parks to be used on a refurb on the very smart new Sheesh

The Beehive Inn has a unique atmosphere with five separate gas lit bars and is described as " a Gem " in the Camra 'Stay At The Inn' guide. Often noted as being the quintessence of an English town pub, the Beehive is also one of only 150 pubs in the UK to be listed on Camra's National Inventory of Outstanding Character Interiors.
The bedrooms (some on the ground floor), all ensuite, are decorated to the highest standard and tastefully furnished in a classic style, keeping with the age and history of the building.
'Welcome Home Sexy' is our monthly jazz night, continuing to receive rave reviews, plus we have a regular schedule of live bands performing, from home-grown Bradford talent to performers from further afield. We also have a range of acts performing in the Beehive bar, our recently refurbished music room. Acts including folk, rock and indie make for a eclectic mix and a good time had by all.
New Beehive has a fascinating history which has been well documented. It was built as a grand Edwardian inn in 1901 and has remained largely unchanged through the years, retaining its character.
We have a large car park for guests to use and free WiFi internet connection.
