the cottage appliances had not been cleaned for some time ?they need to be inspected after vacated & cleaned before the next clients arrive The cleaner is definately not doing their work properley ?
Response from Bradley Burn Cottages:
Thanks for your feedback - it is always helpful to know where we should improve. We have undertaken a deep clean of the cottage, including appliances - especially the radio had been spilt on! Our cleaner has been made aware of your comments and we inspect prior to guest arrival.

mice or bats running about during the night in the loft space but it was in the country

"Warm, comfortable cottage on a working farm, with a superb farm shop and cafe next door"
Second stay at this cottage, having had a very good week there two years ago. Very comfortable and with the added benefit of a farm shop and cafe next door with a comprehensive range of fresh fruit, veg, eggs and locally produced foods. Especially good for a wide range of bottled local ales. Read less

On the edge of the unspoilt North Pennines, an area of outstanding natural beauty, our small complex of interesting barn conversions provide comfortable and centrally located accommodation for touring North East England.

Today Bradley Hall and Bradley Burn are a modern 360 acre farm where the Stephenson family have lived and worked for 60 years. Currently we grow wheat, barley, potatoes, and oilseed rape, and raise beef cattle and lambs.

Our holiday cottages are situated centrally on the farm. All four are barn conversions in the former farmyards at Bradley Burn, where we live in the adjacent farmhouse. All have been carefully renovated to preserve much of their original character, while providing well furnished comfortable accommodation with modern amenities for our visitors, who are welcome to explore the surrounding fields and woods, watch the varied wildlife and observe the farming going on around them. We have been welcoming guests to Bradley Burn for over 20 years and our continuous programme of improvements maintains the high standard of the accommodation.

Granary cottage was extended and completely refurbished in 2006 and now accommodates 6 people in 3 double/twin rooms, one en-suite. The Stable and Harvest cottages are perfect for couples, set around a sunny courtyard on the banks of a pretty stream, the rural surroundings afford many opportunities to see birds, mammals and wild flowers. For ambitious walkers we have maps, leaflets and advice. Table tennis, board games, books and a small DVD collection available in the games room.

The farm is situated at the eastern end of Weardale on the edge of the unspoilt Northern Pennines in the beautiful rural area of County Durham; an ideal base for sightseeing. The attractive village of Wolsingham, two miles west, has a good range of small shops and friendly pubs. There are facilities for swimming, golf, fishing, pony trekking and dry skiing within a short drive.
