Location was nice and quiet, a great place to get away to.
Dislikes:
If I had to be picky, the shower was the weak link. It was powerful and hot enough but cold water comes from a spring. It should go through a traditional loft tank first to increase water pressure.
Response from Burnells Gardens:
Many thanks for your kind words! my plumber is currently looking into a "power shower" with all the associated pumping requirements but as we have no loft space, a water tank is not an option. The problem is giving him a bit of a headache at the moment but I'm sure he'll cope, bless him! Trouble is we may well need all the water pipe replacing throughout the entire property which sounds like a bit of a daunting task and not one I particularly relish. Hope the "Beast" went well for you!

Good Value v. good Breakfast. Quiet location. Pleasant stay. Sheep in Back Garden.
Dislikes:
Access along single track road. Shared bathroom could be a problem if rooms fully occupied,(and could do with extractor fan). No mobile signal and Wi-Fi did not reach bedroom.
Response from Burnells Gardens:
The mobile signal issue is always a problem in such a remote area like Exmoor ... it's all the hills, I am told .... the mobile companies think we don't want to stay in touch with the outside world and sometimes they do have a point!! However Vodafone and Orange are excellent here and I believe O2 is getting better now. The wi-fi signal is also an issue although my neighbours' signal does get to the bedrooms and the rest of the house ... Will ask if I can have his access code for guests to use

"Very welcoming, comfortable and helpful"
It was the first time we had visited Exmoor and was booked as a last minute over night stay on our way home. We were staying with our 10 month old Ridgback puppy and all 3 of us were made to feel very welcome - our puppy certainly appreciated the complimentary dog treats in the room! It was a lovely base for some stunning walks, and the pubs in the village were all dog friendly and very welcoming. Read less

Burnells Gardens is a family run farm situated in the beautiful Avill Valley between the historic village of Dunster & the traditional village of Timberscombe. It is a perfect base for your stay on Exmoor with wild moorland & valleys only a short drive away - as is the town of Minehead and it's beaches and the village of Dunster - packed with history and interest. Minehead and Dunster offer numerous attractions from shopping, golf, steam railway etc. and horse-riding and walking will allow you to experience the tranquility of this lovely area at first-hand.

The farm is river fronted - we can supply a Chiminea for use in the farm's mature gardens or a gas bbq and picnic area on the banks of the river where you may glimpse the resident otters or kingfishers as you dine. You are free to roam the farm and meet Flora & Marge the Goats or the other animals that make up the character of Burnells Gardens! You may even meet the hen who laid the egg you have for your breakfast! Well-behaved dogs are welcome and you can even bring your horse on holiday with you. Sorry but we can't cater for children under 7.

Stabling/grazing can be arranged for y and multiple dogs are no problem with many facilities set up especially for your canine family - treats for them on arrival, a supply of disposal bags, towels and throws for your use, plus a dedicated area for "first-thing in the morning and last-thing at night" toilet breaks. We supply temporary dog i/d discs so there is a local tel. no. for people to use if your dog should accidentally go astray. We also have a dog agility course for the days when you are feeling a little more lively. There are very few rules at Burnells Gardens and our aim is to provide you with a tailor-made break free of restrictions to enhance the quality of your holiday, however short or long this may be. Our local knowledge will help you select the very best of Exmoor for you to enjoy - many people fall in love with Exmoor and return again & again
