The Internet in the room did not work.
It is very important for me to have internet, mainly while in business trip.

Arrived at hotel to find wedding and wedding reception about to start. I think we should have been told about this before we booked, as the wedding guests took over the bar and sitting area within the hotel. The room we were given was large and well furnished but the bathroom was in need of refurbishment. The restaurant was situated in another building outside the main hotel which was fine for us as the weather was find but could be a problem if the weather was bad. Read less

Dislikes:
Guests were expected to go across to the restaurant if they wanted a drink from the bar. The bar in the hotel was only available after the restaurant had closed.

Newbury Manor Hotel in Berkshire is an eighteenth century, three star, grade II listed building set in 9 acres of natural water meadows, rivers and woodlands. The hotel and its restaurant have recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment.
Ideally located for golfing, racing and fishing, Newbury Manor is also an ideal base for exploring the area. For golf fans we are within 10 minutes drive of Parasampia golf course, with another 4 courses within 20 minutes drive. Fishing is possible at either of the two rivers, Kennet & Lambourn, that wind through the grounds.
Located just off the M4, junction 13, but still in a very quiet, tranquil area, we are just 70 minutes from London and 40 minutes from Heathrow. Newbury Racecourse is even closer, taking just 6 minutes in a taxi, whilst the town centre with its park, shops and pubs can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. Both Highclere Castle and the tranquil Donnington Castle ruin are within 10-15 minutes drive, and the area is also excellent for both walking and cycling with Greenham Common just 10 minutes away.
Relax with a stroll around the grounds or drink at the bar followed by a meal at our popular and established restaurant, set on the river itself and accessed by a bridge from the hotel grounds. Freshly cooked, locally sourced food is served in an idyllic environment complete with panoramic views.

We have formed a committee to ensure that all policy aims are met, and that the standards set out in this document are adhered to. These include monitoring and reducing consumption of energy levels, implementing environmental policies that reduce costs, and efforts to offset the carbon footprint of our guests. Between the Crab at Chieveley and the Newbury Manor Hotel we have a combined area in excess of ten acres within which to grow a variety of herbs, fruit and vegetables for use within our own kitchens. This helps keep our produce seasonal and helps keep our carbon footprint to a minimum. Each restaurant in the group ensures that the menu focuses heavily on local produce. Low energy LED lighting is used where possible. We will continue to plant a variety of trees within our grounds to help offset the carbon footprint.
