We were looking for a hotel for a three day stop in this area of South Wales, to walk and explore the coast. We choose Laugharne for its connections to Dylan Thomas and it was an added bonus the Seaview was his former home. The surprise was that the Seaview is indeed 'a restaurant with rooms', a first class restaurant with few equals. Read less

The care and attention to detail, which the hotel spends on food is 2nd to none. It was an unique dining experience with the finest cuisine, an exploration of tastes and texture

"A lovely hotel if it wasn't for the flies!"
We were given the "Curlew" room which is in the attic. It would have been a very nice room, but it was infested with flies - which grew in number as the night went on. I had a sleepless night due to the noise of all the flies. At 4am I counted that I had swatted around 30 flies. It totally spoilt what could have been a lovely evening.
The menu, though it was obvious there was a lot of culinary skill was very limited in choice. Read less
Likes:
The hotel was in a great location and very nicely decorated throughout.
The breakfast was very good too.
The view from the window was lovely.
Dislikes:
I did not like the flies! - as mentioned above - and the total lack of empathy/concern from the landlord.
The menu was extremely limited.

Enjoy the hospitality of Dylan Thomas’ family home in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire.

The restaurant is the heart of our business and through this winter period Darren and Juliette offer the experience of sampling there exciting and progressive tasting menu. This is the only menu avaliable for diners. The menu is 7 courses with surprises and is an experience not to be missed.

The rooms are open always with or without dinner in our restaurant.

Following an extensive restoration project, Seaview Laugharne in Carmarthenshire can provide a unique destination both in quality and historic provenance. Dylan Thomas and his wife Caitlin started their family life here, after the birth of their son Llewelyn, and later admitted Seaview was the happiest period of their life together. You will find Seaview welcoming, relaxed and friendly.
