I was unable to have breakfast as requested at 7.30am There was only one member of staff. Room was clean but smelt fusty. Ketle had to be boiled on the floor due to length of lead. Decor was poor.

Located Close to the beach, main shopping area, restaurants, bus & railway stations. The Terrace Guest House is a fantastic viewpoint to see the world famous Pier, day & night. More than 100 years old and 1.33 miles long, the pier is the longest pleasure pier in the world.

If you're feeling energetic you can take a walk to the end or you can catch one of the unique pier trains one-way or both ways. Southend's seafront is literally packed with things to do for all ages Seven miles of award-winning beaches (including the Jubilee Beach – always above high tide), the longest pleasure pier in the world, over eighty parks and open spaces of varying size, forty playgrounds, six nature and fourteen historic conservation areas, sixteen allotment sites and that’s just for starters. Also along Southend's seafront is the renovated Kursaal building.

The Kursaal was the entertainment centre of Southend more than 50 years ago with a glorious ballroom and outstanding architecture. It has now been brought back to its former glory and updated for the new millennium with a superb 30 lane bowling alley and amusements all round.
