Ty Morgans is a three story town house situated in the centre of the beautiful market town of Rhayader. We started out in June 2006 with 5 double en-suite rooms. Then in 2009 we extended above the Strand Coffee Shop which gave us another 4 rooms as well as the brand new Morgans Bar. We now have 9 double en-suite rooms, all beautifully individually done out as well as (new to 2010) Morgans Apartment, situated about 100 yards from Ty Morgans. This is a two bedroom, fully furnished 1st floor apartment with a double room, twin room living room, bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen.
Rhayader is in next to the outstanding Elan Valley, with its beautiful lakes and stunning scenery a great place for a drive, waking, picnics and cycling! We have a selection of walks available to borrow with a variety of difficulty and distance in a folder at Ty Morgans as well as a selection of sandwiches, cakes and drinks in our Sandwich shop for you to take on your journey.
The rooms are all en-suite and some unique with original oak beams and stone fireplaces. Welcoming you into our rooms we have gorgeous homemade shortbread, a selection of teas and coffee, what better way to end a long journey! Hearty Welsh cooked breakfasts – the best way to start the day - are served every morning in our breakfast room.
Ty Morgans is part of a complex that includes Morgans Bistro and Bar as well as the Strand Coffee and Sandwich shop and now Morgans Apartment, all overlooking the town centre. The Bar is new to the complex it has a wide selection of drinks and its own menu (which is served every night from 5.00 pm – 9.00 pm), indoor seating area and for those lovely summers evenings a court yard seating area. The Bistro is now only open on Friday and Saturday nights in the Winter from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm.
