We arrived late, welcomed with night caps and offer of a late breakfast. Next day we boarded at Glenshee then came back to a necessary hot bath with limitless hot water. We then had a fantastic evening meal clearly the exceptional efforts of a talented chef. Whilst the wine list was short, the offerings were highly quaffable, so we didn't hold back. Altamount House Hotel in Blargowrie is beautifully situated in 7 acres of well laid out gardens and mature woodlands yet only 500 yards from the centre of town. The impressive Georgian mansion was built in 1804 and maintains many original features.
The hotel has been awarded 3 stars from the Scottish tourist board for its high standards and has an excellent reputation for quality cuisine. All rooms are individual, comfortable and ensuite. Each room is equipped with a trouser press, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mineral water are standard.
Altamount House is the ideal location for parties, weddings and conferences. Tailor made holiday packages are available, including romantic breaks, golf groups, shooting, fishing, walking and skiing. Most sports and activities can be organised by the hotel for our guests.
