this is a good, budget hotel that gives great value for money, we have stayed at hotels costing twice as much but delivering less. overall, a very nice short stay.

Apparently this hotel suffers from a lot of "floods" . I made internet reservations with this hotel some 2 months prior to my "stay" on the day I was due I was telephoned by the hotel and informed they had had a flood and we would not be able to stay there. We were offered and accepted a transfer to another hotel nearby ( Mount Stuart ) However, although we had paid for breakfast at the Bonnington, it was not included at the Mount Stuart. Apparently they have a lot of floods, as they are constantly telling their clients this, while they transfer them to other hotels.

On check in my partner was informed we did not have a booking as the hotel was closed (full of students). Our booking reference was produced and we were checked in but informed there would be no breakfast for us. We had to pay for parking. The hot tap in the bathroom was loose, the shower attachment was broken so the shower head could not be held in place. No tea making facility until requested and no hot water on the last morning.
