Welcome to Colin House, a very clean and friendly 4 star bed & breakfast located in a quiet cul-de-sac yet only yards away from the beaches of Preston and Paignton. Fully double glazed and centrally heated, all the bedrooms have ensuite facilities with Freeview TV and a generous beverage tray. The guests' lounge has Freeview TV and we provide free Wi-fi access for our guests. We pride ourselves on the high standards of cleanliness and comfort.
Ideally located for local amenities with several good pubs and restaurants nearby. The red sands of Preston Beach are just a 2 minute level walk, while Paignton Beach and the Pier are a 5 minute level walk and the town centre a 10 minute stroll away. Other nearby attractions include Paignton Zoo, Apollo multiplex cinema, Quay West Water Park, the Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Railway, boat trips and water sports . We are also located on the local bus route so you can easily leave the car behind and have a care free day out to visit the neighbouring towns of Torquay, Cockington Village, Brixham, Dartmouth and Totnes, or venture further by rail and visit the Devon cities of Exeter or Plymouth.
Our aim is to make your stay so enjoyable, you’ll want to come again. We try to be as flexible as we can – if you have any special requests, just ask and we’ll do all we can to meet your needs. Vegetarian breakfast option available. Off street parking available.
Environmental Statement
At Colin House, we are trying to “do our bit” for the environment. We live in a beautiful part of Devon, and we believe that with the help of our guests, we can contribute to sustaining our environment which, in turn, will maintain the natural splendour of Torbay for future generations. We try to minimise the energy we consume, re-cycle if possible and use products from sustainable sources that are environmentally friendly. We appreciate any help our guests can give us, such as:
• Leave any newspapers, drink cans or glass bottles beside the bin and we will recycle them
• Switch the TV off when not in use – leaving in standby mode means electricity is being wasted
• Switch off lights when you leave the room
• Hang up towels that can be re-used – cuts down on the amount of water, energy and chemicals used in laundry
