We spent 3 nights at Courtenay House while visiting relatives. Tina & Clive made us very welcome, the room was adequate & the breakfasts were superb. We also had Sunday lunch there with the family which was also extremely good & all home cooked by Tina. Will definitely return when next visiting the family in Bovey Tracey. Ideal location for walking on the moor and visiting local villages, Widdecombe - in- the - moor, lustleigh etc. Tina was great and very welcoming.
Dislikes:
Lack of on-site parking made it a bit of a faff when trying to unload the car and re-load when leaving. There is a pay&display car park only a couple off mins walk for overnight parking.

We had an overnight stay prior to a family wedding, and we arrived early evening. Made very welcome, the room was comfortable. The next morning, the breakfast table was well laid out with a great attention to detail. Plenty of choice in cereal, toast and home-made compote. Well cooked English breakfast for me, my husband had the kippers which had been bought especially for him. Tina is very friendly and we had a pleasant conversation. Interesting surroundings. Good location in Bovey Tracey. Pleasant atmosphere, and feeling of care and comfort.
Dislikes:
Perhaps, the price should reflect the fact that there is no on-suite facilities, maybe just a few pounds less would do.

Courtenay House is an adults only bed and breakfast located in Bovey Tracey, the gateway to Dartmoor. It makes an ideal location for those visiting the area. Bovey Tracey is a picturesque town right on the edge of Dartmoor, located just 8 miles away from Torquay.
It provides an excellent base from which to explore. There are numerous scenic walks and cycle paths nearby. There are also a number of riding centres in the area if you want to go riding.
Courtenay House is a Victorian house that still maintains many of its original features. There is a homely atmosphere full of chintz and period charm with old china tableware and lace tablecloths. Antiques are bought and sold and there is a tea room which operates during the day.
We are an adults only guest house.
Evening meals are available by arrangement.
