The Black Swan 17th Century Inn is a charming, 17th century (Grade II listed) Inn is found in the historic town of Middleham, North Yorkshire. With its open log fire, oak beamed bar and friendly service, you can relax and enjoy Theakstons legendary ales and fresh local produce cooked to order in our restaurant and bar.

Whatever your interests, Middleham and Wensleydale will have something for you, whether you want to go walking, shooting, fishing or canoeing it’s all available and in some of the most beautiful countryside in the United Kingdom. Close to great walking countryside and in the heart of a racehorse training centre this is the perfect place for a country break with a difference.

Middleham is famous for its racing industry and each morning strings of racehorses can be seen passing through on their way to the local gallops on the Moor. Why not combine your visit with a trip to the races? There are nine racecourses within an hour or so and we may even be able to arrange a stable visit for you.

Outside we have a delightful private South facing beer garden where on summer mornings breakfast can be taken. The garden almost backs onto the Castle and on summer evenings is floodlit so you can have an 'al fresco' meal, whenever the weather permits.

Close to great walking countryside and in the heart of a racehorse training centre this is the perfect place for a country break with a difference.
