to West Down Farm, a spacious, peaceful, country house set in 30 acres of spectacular gardens and rolling Devon countryside,with chickens and ducks wandering around the yard and occasionally tame lambs or a pig. we break a few horses each year so some times we will be long reining and lunging through the spring and summer months we have a walk on the farm with an array of wildlife and birds to be seen

It was a very relaxing stay and breakfast was really good.
Dislikes:
Rather a shame about the traffic noise.but it was not so bad at night.

A warm friendly welcome awaits you at West Down, a spacious, peaceful, four star ‘Arts and Crafts' style Country House. Built in the William Morris style of the 1920's we are set in 30 acres of spectacular gardens and rolling Devon countryside.
Centrally located for all the area has to offer, we are 30-40 minutes from various beaches including Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Croyde along with the old market town of Dunster with its castle and yarn market. The Somerset border is only 5 miles away, and the local town of South Molton is just 3 miles away. The area is ideal for fans of walking and cycling – we are just 15 minutes from the Tarka Trail, where you can hire bikes and cycle the route, stopping to take the steam train when your legs begin to tire. Or instead relax in one of the many country pubs along the way!
There are also a number of National Trust properties and English Heritage sites in the area, including Rosemoor with its Royal Horticultural gardens, and Castle Hill just 5 minutes away, which features 2,500 acres of grounds complete with gardens open to the public.
West Down also provides full livery for anyone bringing their own horses, which can be stabled in our barns. West Down is a horserider's dream with 6 furlong gallops, a trail ride, lots of wildlife to be seen and easy access to Exmoor
West Down provides ample free parking, free wireless internet, Molton Brown toiletries and Freeview TV.
